Bloomington, IN – September 15, 2009 – Envisage Technologies Corporation received a contract amendment from the Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Academy to provide software and professional services to implement state-wide training compliance. The Acadis® Compliance module will support user-defined recertification and training rules and allow POST staff to monitor real-time compliance with training and certification policies.
Utah’s POST Academy provides professional standards, training, leadership and certification for peace officers to protect the rights and privileges of the state’s citizens. Utah law requires all potential peace officers receive basic training before they can be certified and function with any authority in the state. The POST basic training program provides the required training for law enforcement officers.
“The Acadis Readiness Suite and portal infrastructure allow us to provide secure, distributed data collection from our constituent agencies across Utah,” said John Jacobs, training manager of the Utah POST Academy. “The Compliance Management module lets us match collected training records to our requirements and ensure police officer compliance.”
Acadis Compliance Management allows Utah POST staff to track candidates for qualifications/certifications against defined certification, recertification and job task criteria. The system automates the time-consuming process of managing application information and tracking complex recertification requirements. Acadis ensures Utah’s workforce fulfills all certification and recertification requirements and can be used to plan appropriate training events for groups of personnel with expiring certifications.
The addition of Acadis Compliance Management will allow the POST access to summary training information for each police agency, ensure training policies are met and essential certifications are current.
“Acadis Compliance Management is a critical component of our Readiness Suite. It significantly reduces compliance costs for high-risk training organizations like the State of Utah,” said Cory Myers, vice president of homeland security solutions for Envisage Technologies. “Most organizations want to reduce paperwork and provide police agencies easy-to-use tools to report their mandated training activities securely via the Internet. The Acadis Portal gives departments visibility into current training and certification records for staff and easily report mandatory in-service training as it occurs. In this way, the POST can ensure officers across the state meet their compliance requirements.”
