The International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) is an international organization of training managers and executives dedicated to the improvement of public safety personnel. IADLEST serves as the national forum of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) agencies, boards, and commissions as well as statewide training academies throughout the United States.
The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) represents the leadership of firefighters and emergency responders worldwide; its’ members are the world’s leading experts in firefighting, emergency medical services, terrorism response, hazardous materials spills, natural disasters, search and rescue, and public safety policy. Its mission is to provide leadership to current and future career, volunteer, fire-rescue and EMS chiefs, chief fire officers, company officers and managers of emergency service organizations throughout the international community through vision, information, education, services and representation to enhance their professionalism and capabilities.
The International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) leads fire and EMS instructors in their efforts to reduce firefighter fatalities and injuries, increase firefighter safety, and improve the profession through education and training. Instructors have the power to transform the lives and well-being of fire and EMS providers everywhere. ISFSI’s passion is to help instructors achieve previously unimaginable levels of performance through professional development, networking, mentoring programs, leadership opportunities, instructional resources, and legislative advocacy.
The North American Fire Training Directors (NAFTD) serves as the primary point of contact for fire training and education conducted throughout the United States and Canada. Each year the NAFTD member training systems provide training to over 940,000 firefighters and emergency responders ranging from basic entry level fire-fighting instruction to professional development courses for chief fire officers. The NAFTD state, provincial, and territorial fire training systems together own or operate approximately 469 classrooms, 1,925 fixed or mobile props and have access to hundreds more through collaborative agreements. Recognized by other major fire service organizations, governmental entities, and legislators as key stakeholders, the North American Fire Training Directors organization is often sought out as a source of expertise, information, and resource on fire service related issues and policy.
The National Certification Program (NCP) is nationwide certification program that certifies law enforcement training standards and “best practices’ relating to improved professionalism and skill sets. NCP courses are recognized nationally and are designed to count towards officers’ mandatory in-service training requirements.
The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is the leading nonprofit membership association representing the interests of the volunteer fire, EMS, and rescue services. The NVFC serves as the voice of the volunteer in the national arena and provides invaluable resources, programs, education, and advocacy for first responders across the nation.
