IADLEST unveils National Certification Program and Training Portal for Law Enforcement
New program ushers in third-party validation of law enforcement training program quality
San Antonio, Texas, June 1, 2015 – The International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) in partnership with Envisage Technologies unveiled the National Certification Program (NCP), a broadly supported national training standard for law enforcement continuing education programs.
IADLEST is a catalyst for law enforcement innovation. The association focuses on the pressing issues of training and standards and created the NCP with the primary goal of improving training quality for law enforcement officers. The NCP applies rigorous standards on training content ensuring that providers incorporate best practices. IADLEST then enforces these standards for providers wishing to be recognized for excellence in law enforcement training.
The NCP will also simplify access to quality training by aggregating certified courses in a national training catalog. Departments will be able to easily search for certified training from providers from around the Nation that have met the quality standard.
This new program and platform will fundamentally improve access to quality courses, reduce costs, improve training efficiency, and ensure officers receive highest-quality training. Envisage Technologies is providing the nation-wide technical framework, FirstForward, to support this groundbreaking program.
Today, the IADLEST 2015 Conference in San Antonio, TX will present this new program during a panel discussion, “IADLEST National Certification Program: A New Era in LEO Training Standards,” at 3:15 p.m. CT/ 4:15 p.m. ET. Industry experts will explain the program benefits for Police Departments, providers, training coordinators and officers.
Those not at the conference can view the panel discussion via a live webcast by registering here. The live stream audio and visual can be accessed from computer, tablet or mobile phone.

“National certification will save state POST’s time and resources and offer a tremendous benefit to training providers nationwide. Chiefs and Sheriffs will have peace of mind knowing that their limited dollars are being spent on quality law enforcement training. Recent events around the nation have placed a greater emphasis on law enforcement training and the NCP will ensure that this training meets the highest standards required for law enforcement officers nationwide.”
Ari Vidali, CEO of Envisage Technologies
“Innovation on this scale is hard, but IADLEST has done it. They have the vision and the reach to improve officer training in a profound way. Finally, law enforcement now has a measurable standard of quality and a seal that will be the symbol of excellence in law enforcement training. We are honored to be a part of history.”
