Title
IADLEST National Certification Program: A New Era in LEO Training Standards

Date
Monday, June 1

Time
3:15- 5:00 PM CT  / 4:15 – 6:00 PM ET

Speakers
Mike Becar, Executive Director of IADLEST (Moderator); Peggy Schaefer, NCP Director at IADLEST; Kim Vickers, Executive Director at Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards; Dave Harvey, Executive Director at Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards; and, Ari Vidali, CEO of Envisage Technologies.

IADLEST, a catalyst for law enforcement innovation, focuses on the pressing issues for training managers and executives. They created the National Certification Program to establish national training standards for all the vendors who provide certifications and courses for law enforcement. The program ensures high-quality training content and eliminates many of the current challenges confronting the profession.

The panel will discuss the benefits of the National Certification Program for law enforcement officers, vendors and training coordinators, including easier access, cost savings, high-quality courses, and efficiency. They will also explain how to use the program and the technology behind the system.

For the first time in law enforcement history, training coordinators can access a list of all available training content validated by a national association. The program will simplify access to the training by providing the certified courses in a National Training Catalog, housed on Envisage Technology’s FirstForward platform. Departments can search for certified training provided by vendors around the nation and see course reviews and ratings.
