ENVISAGE Technologies and SumTotal Systems to Introduce Comprehensive Blended Learning Platform; Strategic Alliance Provides Basis for Human Performance Improvement (HPI) Objectives

Bloomington, IN - February 8, 2006 - ENVISAGE Technologies and SumTotal(TM) Systems (Nasdaq:SUMT) today announced the formation of a strategic alliance between the two companies. Their combined capabilities will address the significant market demand for end-to-end learning and human performance improvement (HPI) solutions that encompass all aspects of law enforcement, first responder, and military training management, including blended learning, and complex logistics scheduling.

ENVISAGE, with its recent acquisition of the ISERA Group's software assets, and SumTotal, with its recent acquisition of Pathlore Software Corp., are expanding their capabilities in modernized training management and human capital improvement, including training delivery, student and instructor management, learning management, complex scheduling, and automated testing. The ENVISAGE-SumTotal strategic alliance will focus on the delivery of tightly integrated solutions envisioned by military and homeland security customers, and will immediately support the Army, Navy, and Air Force commands in their continued development into performance-centric training organizations.

A comprehensive Blended Learning Platform will be built using the ENVISAGE Acadis Readiness Suite, including the OnSchedule components, and the SumTotal Enterprise Suite. These interoperable modules provide focused automation that addresses the challenges being faced by today's training commands.

"For the military, a blended training environment is a three-dimensional world in which learning and development happens on a firing range, in the air or at sea. The Armed Forces also have students billeted around the world in various locales, so they're looking for learning management systems that not only manage performance but also meet the complex logistical needs of a military training organization," said Jim Gill, SumTotal's Director of Government Solutions. "We believe our solution with ENVISAGE will give the military the answer it seeks."

"The integrated solution will extend our training management capabilities, leveraging the Acadis toolset for robust student and instructor management, flexible automated testing and grading management, and complex logistics scheduling," explained Kurtis Speer, ENVISAGE Vice President of Business Development. "Training solutions that focus solely on e-learning can't support the many dimensions of military training. With this integrated offering, the training commands will finally be able to comprehensively address residential, skills-based training and distributed learning, driven by a powerful scheduling and optimization engine to maximize efficiency and throughput."

"A highly trained, skilled and motivated workforce is the most critical performance driver for any organization," said Ari Vidali, ENVISAGE CEO. "This fact is particularly relevant to our military and homeland defense sectors where training and skills are vital to saving lives. The combined leadership and expertise of our two companies will set a new standard for the industry by providing next-generation technology aimed at accelerating organizational transformation and real-time warfighter development."
