Federal Protective Service Implements Academy Management System

Bloomington, IN - March 8, 2005 - The Federal Protective Service (FPS) is the most recent Federal Law Enforcement academy under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to implement the Academy Class Management System (ACMS). FPS is a vital component of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, providing law enforcement and security services to over one million tenants and daily visitors to all federal facilities nationwide.

Widely adopted throughout the DHS, ACMS is a robust enterprise training management system designed specifically for the needs of Law Enforcement. The system empowers academies to standardize operations, track training, automate scheduling and manage complex workflow. Developed by ENVISAGE, a Bloomington, Indiana-based high technology firm, ACMS is now being used by many high-volume training organizations including the academies of Customs and Border Protection, US Border Patrol, Citizenship and Immigration Services, and ICE. Resident on the secure ICE intranet, the web-based platform replaces many outdated legacy systems with a standard solution for agency-wide management of training records.

"The ACMS is a modern enterprise system that will vastly improve our ability to manage our law enforcement training," stated Gary Beard, Director of the FPS Academy. "ENVISAGE was able to launch ACMS for our Academy in less than three months, just in time for our new class arrivals."

"The FPS Academy has a dynamic and visionary leader in Gary Beard," stated Ari Vidali, ENVISAGE CEO. "Modernization is not an easy undertaking. It is precisely this kind of focused leadership that makes such rapid transformation possible. We look forward to working with the FPS Academy to help them achieve their long term objectives."

About DHS - ICE, Federal Protective Service
The mission of the Federal Protective Service (FPS) is to provide law enforcement and security services to over one million tenants and daily visitors to all federally owned and leased facilities nationwide. FPS focuses directly on the interior security of the nation and the reduction of crimes and potential threats to federal facilities throughout the nation.

ICE works to protect the United States and its citizens by deterring, interdicting, and investigating threats arising from the movement of people and goods into and out of the United States; and by policing and securing federal government facilities across the nation. As the largest investigative arm of the DHS, ICE brings a unified and coordinated focus to the enforcement of federal immigration laws, customs laws, and, as of November 2003, air security laws. ICE brings to bear all of the considerable resources and authorities invested in it to fulfill its primary mission: to detect vulnerabilities and prevent violations that threaten national security.
